Our next event will consist of an open discussion of the opportunities and challenges, of moving existing and new code into the new cloud paradigm to support systems that are designed to run at scale.
Using both Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, we will outline the considerations and practical implications of moving existing and new code into the cloud space, to take advantage of both elastic computing and highly scalable architectures to support tomorrow’s businesses. We will introduce the changes to infrastructure and software frameworks required to move away from client/server and browser/host-based design principles, using the two most popular cloud platform services.
The topic will be presented by Arron Clague from Synapse Consulting and Owen Cutajar from Intelligence Ltd, who will talk through some prepared slides on the topics before opening the floor for discussion.
The event will be preceded by a short AGM to which all BCS members have already been invited.
The event will be held at the Sanderson Suite, Claremont Hotel, Douglas on 27th September 2012, starting at 6:00 pm, with complimentary light refreshments available from 5:30 pm.
