Peter Wood and Mike McLaughlin are “white hats” from Firstbase Technologies LLP and they will host a timely Masterclass on systems security, penetration tests and corporate governance given the recent local interest in a global data island policy.
Peter will include areas such as the shift to “red teaming”, the recent joint UK and USA cyber terror cell test on the banking system and the relevance of a Critical National Infrastructure strategy to the private sector and Europol insights on “Crime-As-A-Service”. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a member of the Institute of Directors, a CISSP and a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University.
Mike was a technical advisor to BBC Click at the infamous hacker unconference DefCon Las Vegas and he will include a debriefing and emerging trends. He is a Member of the British Computer Society, a registered GCHQ CREST penetration tester, and holds the SANS GSEC and GPEN certificates and the very demanding 24 hour OSCP certificate.
Please register at Eventbrite to attend the Security Masterclass event.
BCS members who attend either event may request a CPD certificate for that event, which will be provided at no charge. Non-members may also request a CPD certificate; there will be a £5 charge for non-members who request a CPD certificate, this needs to be paid to a BCS Isle of Man committee member at the event.
