The Isle of Man section of the British Computer Society hosted a talk on electronic payment services and BACSTEL-IP on Thursday 24th February.
BACSTEL-IP provides secure and direct access based on Internet protocols to BACS Direct Debit and Credit payment schemes.
The talk was presented by Ian Armstrong, Bacstel-IP Manager for Bottomline Technologies Europe. He presented an overview of the new BACS service including PKI Security, Connectivity and Service Level Agreements (SLA's). Ian also examined client requirements across both Finance and IT, which was of general interest to both Finance and
Compliance professionals.
The event was the latest in a series of well attended talks on topics including web accessibility and computer forensics, presented since the formation of the local section last year. Members also enjoyed a tour of the Okells Brewery in January - gaining an insight into the fermentation process and providing their expect options of the finished product!
