Date: Tuesday 6th December 2005
Time: Tour starts at 19:30
Description:
After great demand following last year's visit, the Isle of Man section of the British Computer Society were pleased to announce a second Okells Brewery Tour, which was held on Tuesday 6th December at the Okells brewery, Kewaigue.
"You will start in the Brewhouse and you will be shown how the raw ingredients of beer, malt, sugar, hops, yeast and water are turned
into the finished beer.
You will see all the vessels used in all stages of production and how the computers are used to run the brewing process. You will have a chance to see beers in the fermenting vessels and get a chance to savour the aromas of an active fermentation. The tour then passes through the Lager Fermentation area and then to the ground floor of the Brewery where you will see how the beers are put into containers, kegs and casks. You will also see how the production process is backed by extensive quality control checks in the Brewery laboratory."
The event commenced at 7:30pm at the Okells Brewery, Kewaigue and concluded no later than 10:30pm following a buffet and an opportunity to sample the various product lines in the hospitality bar. Soft drinks were provided for designated drivers - strictly no alcohol for drivers.
