Description:
An introduction to Lough House Animation
An introduction to Lough House Animation, LHA Games and Island Studios. We started out as Lough House Animation eight years ago, in our premises on Approach Road Ramsey with a plan to train artists in the field of traditional cartoon animation. With the help of Cosgrove Hall alumni ( makers of Dangermouse, Duckula, Discworld, and The BFG) we produced and co-produced several titles. We have had broadcast success with series like 'Sid Sidesplitter' and 'Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids' and have trained over twenty animators. We have also produced computer generated cartoons, including two pilot episodes of 'The Tool Street Gang', a series for pre-school children. With the building of Island Studios - our live action sound stage and facilities complex, we took up residence in our present location on Jurby Road. Here we began to explore further with computer generated animation, building our knowledge base in this area, producing several new concepts for consideration whilst carrying on with our traditional hand-drawn work.
More recently the market for traditional animation has seen a downturn, and we made the decision to become a fully 3d studio, ready to produce computer animation for TV and games companies. We formed an alliance with Inca Gold, a European games developer/publisher for whom we provide graphics, 3d models and animation. We hope in the near future to develop some of our suitable cartoon properties into computer/console games, as well as co-produce new animated 3d cartoons.
